My Essay:
President Elect Obama revolutionized the inner working of the grass root campaining. He assembled a ground team consisting of thousands of voulenteers who campaingened him through personal texts, calls, going door to door, internet, television, and yard signs. Through Obama's revolutionary campaign he reached cut to a rainbow coalition.
His supporters include African Americans, Caucasion Americans, Lations, Asains, gays, and people of all ages. Obama didn't target just one specific ethnicity. He reached out to all ethnicities in order to bring awarness to his campaign. He won 54% of Catholics, 66% of Latinos, 68% of new voters, 96% of the African American population, and over 50% of the Caucasion American population. He didn't want just votes from the red states or just the blue states. Obama wanted the United States. He felt our unification would bring us out of our econimic downturn. People everywhere of all ethnicities believed Obama and his famous quote, " Change you can believe in."
Obama was not only able to reach people in the north, but he reached people in the south, west, and mid-west. Obama was able to achieve a unprecidented 364 electoral votes through his revolutionary campaign and through his rainbow coalilition. He was able to recieve support from nothern states like New York and Pennslyvania; Western states like California and Washington; Southern states like Florida and mid-western states lik colorado. President Elect Obama was able to win because he pulled in a larger range of supporters.
Obama won not because he was a black man or because he was richer than Senator McCain. He won because he was a American who cared deeply for his country and wanted to bring change for everyone. He felt by reaching out to a rainbow coalition and using hsi revolutionary campaign, he would be able to become the 44th president of the United States. He achieved his goal by using his thousands of voulenteers and making every American believe change was coming to them.
